Hello! My boss Karen has been nagging me to write a blog post, so here I am! I’m Natalie and I work at the shop with the crew. I’ve been busy gazing longingly at fabric and drafting a bumbag pattern! I wanted a bag I could strap on and wear on walks with my dog so I didn’t have to have my hands full of keys and my phone when it came to cleaning up after my little darling fluff ball!
Bumbags were totally a thing when I was growing up, and I’m deadset bringing them back. So convenient, so handy! I almost always sew pockets into my garments but when I wear my leggings there’s no place for a pocket, so a bumbag is now going to be mandatory for me.
I’ve made about 6 now and I’m starting to experiment with adding trims, so when I nabbed a fat quarter of this awesome purple and pink star fabric from work my eyes wandered over to the pom poms… and so the Stars and Pom-Poms Bumbag was born!
We just got this checkerboard fabric in today so now I’m thinking about making a bumbag for my husband, who is a motorsport officiant in his spare time. Whether or not he’ll wear it to races is another thing! (I just need an excuse to make more bags.)
So tell me… orange or yellow trims? I need your advice!
